Individual Therapy

Feelings are hard to express in words. And many needs are tough to identify, besides knowledge is only a piece of the puzzle. Relationships and creativity help us express and understand. With teens, I practice developmentally appropriate expressive arts like poetry, painting, collage and sand tray in addition to conversation. These methods are grounded in decades of research, my graduate training, experience with trauma, continuing education and feedback from families like yours.

I embrace the paradoxes of therapy like facilitating change, but not fixing people. We often move from surface problems to heart issues, trying hard to accepting, isolation to interdependence, embodied wisdom to the mind and back.
