About the event

As child counselors, our own upbringing, communication styles, and cultural backgrounds subtly shape how we relate to clients’ parents. This advanced discussion group invites play therapists to reflect on these influences, explore how parents can trigger emotional responses in us, and practice strategies for self-awareness and effective parent collaboration.

The training will be guided by Joy Cannon MA, LPC-S, RPT-S and based on recent research directions. Certificates of attendance provided to mental health professionals. This event is approved for 1.5 hours of contact instruction for play therapists. APT Approved Provider 25-780
